2.1

Types of Angles

An angle is measured in degrees. An angle less than 90° is acute, exactly 90° is a right angle, between 90° and 180° is obtuse, and exactly 180° is a straight angle.

1

What type of angle is 45°?

Acute angle

2

What type of angle is 120°?

Obtuse angle

2.2

Types of Lines

Lines that never meet, no matter how far they extend, are called parallel lines. Lines that cross each other at a right angle are called perpendicular lines.

1

The two rails of a railway track are an example of which type of lines?

Parallel lines

2

The corner of a square page is formed by which type of lines?

Perpendicular lines
